Re: Petra video shoot and TV show practices

We were sitting far enough back that I didn't notice any lip syncing, and the music sounded different enough from the album to me that I don't believe it was fully taped. The one thing I wonder is the high notes toward the end of "Adonai." I was impressed that Greg could still hit them, and I assum...

Re: Petra video shoot and TV show practices

I've read somewhere that back in the jonathan david brown days Bob wouldn't change the key he wrote the song in. Greg just had to pull it off. I don't know if things have changed but I've noticed over the last few gxv albums that Greg was keying it down almost to the point it didn't even sound like ...

Reminds me of my 11th birthday. My best friend bought me a Queen Tape (yes I know "Queen"). But he opened it and listened to it for a week before he gave it to me. It always felt borrowed after that.

Re: The First 35 Seconds...

I've been trying to decide if he is using an octave pedal to get that low roaring sound. It sounds awesome regardless. I just wish the lead guitar solos were a little more out front. That's my only disappointment about this album. I guess I'm just to 80's hair metal. Bob's guitar sounds a lot clean...

Re: Petra video shoot and TV show practices

Any idea if they recorded it in HD? They said they were using HD cameras at the show, and when they were showing some clips at the meet and greet it looked great!! What they were showing on the tv's at the meet and greet was definitely HD!! As for the lipsyncing.... I can hear a lot of vocal pitch ...

Never owned a bus myself. Just big old tour vans. Leakin' oil all over the interstate. Good times!

Re: Lead break on Let Everything.....

I can't believe none of you could tell on the new album. John's rock guitar keyboard sound has always sounded very different from Bob's guitar, it has that John L sound to it that he's known for. Plus I can't believe you couldn't tell his playing. I'm ashamed...... very ashamed  On the cd it's...

Re: CDs are different to the Downloads

The guitar parts are far more impressive on the cd. The mp3 made them sound weak. The cd is a must have.

Revival got some play here but not a lot. And J&h was way too heavy to get airplay in my nick of the woods.
