Re: Petra Is Done
While I agree Petra was as much a ministry as entertainment, this ain't the Harlem Globetrotters. The success of the band was very much tied into the chemistry of the members and the individuals who related to the fans. I think history has already proven that their is no appetite from the fans for a...

While I may agree with PMAL's sentiments, this is still better than anyting on "Never Say Dinosaur"

Re: Petra vs Stryper
And to bring this back to Petra vs Stryper, I would need to read the book to get a better understanding of Michael Sweet (and I probably won't TBH), but Stryper's look always bothered me. To sexified for a supposedly Christian. The argument " I don't need religion to know Christ" is falasy in my eye...

Re: Petra vs Stryper
I don't believe there is anything "hidden" in the Bible that is presently unknowable, and I would be curious to know your Biblical basis for believing so. Yes, God did reveal certain things to people in the past (whether they were truly unknowable before or God simply prompted them to see what was ...

Brent, would you please get real, say what you mean and stop sugar coating everything.  That's why we love brent. Not only does he speak his mind, but he usually provides biblical backing for a stance and gives us an "insiders" glimpse into the industry (no offence to being label...

Re: Web Browsers
It is a pretty fast browsing experience using TOR, you can avoid the bombardment of targeted advertising too, the adverting giants don't know how to handle it. Blocks scripts by default. Mainly tech people and sadly some crims use it to access those dodgy .se domains. The general public don't under...

Re: Poll: God Fixation (1998)
If I rated my albums, this would be on the lower end.
Some good songs on it, but I really love the feel of "Falling-up", both lyrically and musically.
However, Magnet of the World, the Invitation, Over the Horizon and Set for Life all get skipped when I'm listening to it.

Re: Poll: Unseen Power (1991)
I choose Hey World and was pleasantly surprised I wasn't the only one. Although the chorus is a bit repetitive, even after listening to it 100's of times, I still get a lump in my throat as I listen to it. Probably my next favourite album. It seems like an album end to end of anthems that tend to gi...

Re: Web Browsers
I agree on not using IE.
Never heard of TOR. Need to check it out.
Unfortunately, in Canada anyway, a lot of commercial banking websites and government websites only work well with IE
Otherwise, think I'll completely switch to Chrome or maybe Tor.

Re: Poll: No Doubt (1995)
How can an artist put out a great album(WUC) two years prior and then come out with something like this? IMO this was not the beginning of the downfall of Petra this was jumping off a cliff thinking that they needed a new fan base Petra; this was the time that a lot of fans from the 80's said I'm d...

Re: NEW Schlitt Lawry 2014 Version of Prayer!!!!!
With all respect Trodlan and p-freak, this was probably "Hey, since we're together, lets put this to tracks" type of recording. Probably done in a hurry for die hard fans.
Glad they took the time to do it and a nice version. But I agree, the original is better.

Re: Poll: Beyond Belief (1990)
I'm curious. What changes did they do to "Beyond Belief" live? The only live version I've heard is the one that's on Farewell. I did see Petra live in 2001 or 2002 (Revival tour) but I really don't remember how they played that one. Not sure when they changed it to the new live version, but they ke...

In the last little while IE10 and now IE11 bounce me out of my username and just allow me to browse as guest.
However, Chrome and Firefox have no issues.
Anyone experience anything similar?

Re: Poll: On Fire! (1988)
100% in agreement.executioner wrote:That scream at the beginning of "Mine Field" does it for me; This song NEVER gets old and John's vocals throughout the song are awesome and sound like AC/DC. This album still lacks the great ballads of the past, but the rockers are some of the best Petra has ever done.

Re: Poll: This Means War! (1987)
I went with All the King's Horses for the energy. A strong album that didn't date really well, but still a fav to listen to.
