Re: Christian songs and their secular counterparts
Not quite. Besides Bon Jovi came out with that song in 2016, 4 years after John Schlitt's "Take Me Home."canelaschlitt wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 3:35 pmTake me Home John Schlitt and This house is not for sale - Bon Jovi.
Check Bon Jovi's song. It is identical in the very first part of the song.

Newsboys Covering Petra Songs?
Upon recently downloading the new Newsboys album STAND , I couldn't help but wonder with anticipation & excitement if certain songs on their track listing like, "Stand," "Clean, and "No Doubt" were possibly Petra covers. However, I quickly realized that while common Christian subject matter may be r...

The vocals on Not of This World are credited to Bob Hartman, Greg X. Volz, John Slick, Mark Kelly, and Louie Weaver; however, if my ears serve me correctly, on this track, I hear Mark Kelly predominantly on BGVs.

Re: Fave praise song
When Greg bends the opening high note on "Praise Ye the Lord," you know the song's gonna rock! He continues belting out high notes throughout the 1981 classic from Never Say Die. It's a shame he didn't replicate this on CPR's Back to the Rock II. I much prefer the original version.

Re: 1982 - Petra Live in Atlanta
These videos are a rare glimpse into the early set list of Petra. When John Slick was an active contributor to this forum a few years back, I asked him a question regarding whether the band played selections off their non-Jonathan David Brown produced era. For whatever reason, he never answered me. ...

Re: New Petra Project
For me, the real band was John, Johnny, Bob, Ronny & Louie. There are two line-ups that I would classify as "real Petra": Greg Volz; Bob Hartman; John Slick; Mark Kelly; Louie Weaver and John Schlitt; Bob Hartman; John Lawry; Ronnie Cates; Louie Weaver I base this on the simple fact that no other l...

Re: Petra at America's Christian Music Awards - 1994
I was a young, video production intern at the short lived American Christian Music Awards in 1994. It was a dream come true! I was a senior in high school, and my principal agreed to let me take a few days off school to go down to Orlando to help shoot music videos for CCM. Our production crew staye...

Re: New Petra Project
Hey, guys. I actually ran into John Elefante here in Nashville the other night and asked him if Petra was working on something "new" as I had read rumors online. He said, "No" and added that John Schlitt isn't "really into Petra" anymore. Sorry to burst your bubble. He referenced John's new solo alb...

Re: Greg X Volz Solo
I find Greg's song list rather odd. He's got random cuts from his relatively obscure solo discography that only diehard fans would be able to sing along to and yet nothing from CPR's album?
