Re: A Conversation with John Slick
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING HERE, JOHN! It is so great and interesting to read everything you've said! Listening to More Power To Ya , I can't help but feel it is one of Petra's finest works. Your part is certainly not inferior to any of the others! Your time spent in the music industry was not was...

Re: Adonai
I've never heard a Brown Bannister production that I liked. It's just a matter of personal taste, I guess.

Re: Adonai
I wouldn't say it's "inarguably" the best production, but I can kinda understand liking it. It sounds like it really did sound; they really isn't much in the way of added-on effects. Thus it is like a live album. But I never had a problem with "over-production" as some people call it. I'm a BTS fan,...

Re: Adonai
"Good News" just doesn't sound catchy to me. Same with the rest of the album. I don't especially like most of the songs you listed, either; The two-ballad mandate was not a good idea. "I am Available" always annoyed me. Some of them did have character, though; (I liked "Hand on My Heart" but can cer...

Re: Adonai
I had to look up the album online to even remember what the songs were  If "Sunday school candy songs" means it has a tune, then I suppose Believer In Deed is the only one like that (and Just Reach Out, which was too sappy for me to like). Come to think of it, I don't really like any music fr...

Re: Adonai
...It was a little less edgier than the previous few albums but the sound was progressing in a different direction. I do believe it to be the best production Petra has ever done from the technical & sonic view ... The other four are actually all in my bottom 5 albums with WWT with No Doubt being th...

Re: Adonai
I don't prefer to clump Wake-Up call with earlier albums; even though Bob was still there, the Elefantes were not, and it's possible that this break in the momentum killed them. Wake-Up Call had harder chords and a clearer sound than later ones, but the tunes were pretty bad, so realistically speaki...

Re: Classic Petra Cover Band?
Way off topic!  Thankfully you don't need to have faith in the church. And there will be a remnant, even if the mainstream becomes entirely worthless. The true church will remain! As for the original topic, I don't see why it's such a bad idea; sure you won't get played on the radio, bu...

Re: What music have you been listening to lately?
Switchfoot is positive? Sounds pretty far-fetched to me. Anyway, I was listening to Crumbacher-Duke's Worlds Away , September Lines Are Falling , Rob Frazier Heartland , and T-Bone's History of a Hoodlum (don't really recommend that one...) and lots of other weird stuff. In all probability no-one he...
