Mike Licona covers this topic in his book Paul Meets Muhammad: A Christian-Muslim Debate on the Resurrection on pages 88-89, in the following way "...the phrase 'three days and three nights' is a Jewish idiom meaning a short period of time and does not necessarily have to include three days and thre...

I gave 11 scripture references that said the third day, not 3 days. Seven of those were quotes from Jesus. It seems perfectly logical to me that either that one quote was mistranslated, or more likely, that back then any part of a day was counted as a day. This is a perfect example why having a Chur...

You could send a PM to Jen.

Also, who was the person who put together the slide show at the Ft. Wayne Farewell concert?

Re: Wanted: hi-res Petra '70s photos

Does anyone out there have hi-resolution (300 dpi) photos of the early Petra crew? I know there are a lot out there (I have some as well), but I'm looking for hi-resolution shots for print media. If anyone has some, or access to some, please email me! Have you emailed Degroff, Hough or the others, ...

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Makes crucifixtion on Friday kind of impossible. Either the bible is right all the time or some of the time...or man has given into the ...

Matthew 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the THIRD DAY be raised to life. Matthew 17:23 They will kill him, and on t...

John Michael Talbott's Lenten and Easter Message

I am on his mailing list and I thought this was very interesting. I have been struck in recent weeks by the much talked about report that 8 out of 10 Americans call themselves "Christians." That is much higher than I would have thought, and is very revealing concerning everything from interfaith iss...

If the mode of transmission -- the music -- is effective, why don't we use it to communicate good theology? It's not necessary to throw it out I suppose. I would ask though what is it that it's effectively doing? Emotional manipulation is essentially falsehood, this would make me wary of it. You do...

Although I may be pounded on this board, I would like to respectfully submit that perhaps disillusionment with your church or denomination might be the working of the Holy Spirit urging you to look for the true Church. The Church that can trace its origins all the way back to the apostles. Dare I sa...

Re: dirty dirty dirty

A rather pointless tale when there's an expression about throwing a baby out with the bathwater... Let's not lose sight of the overwhelming abundance of Scripture that says we should care for the earth. But if you don't like the term "earth day" call it "Creation care Sunday" - just be prepared to ...

Earth Day's Dirty Little Secret by Ken Anderson, written April 2006: On this, the 36th anniversary of Earth Day, it is only fitting to speak of one of its founders, Ira Einhorn. You won’t find Ira Einhorn’s name listed in any of the Earth Day promotional literature, as the organizers have taken ...
