Re: Left Behind Series

There has already been a Left Behind Movie series. There have been some knock-offs too. If you want a real trip back in time, When Jesus was going to come by the 1970s, watch A Thief In The Night and A Distant Thunder. https://youtu.be/GfD_w_8tz5k These movies could make people get saved a couple o...

Re: Favourite Petra Album 1990-2003

This was a difficult choice due to the fact that 3 of my top 5 Petra albums are in this poll; BB, WUC, & JAH are instant classics in my book. I went with WUC.

Re: Best Petra Album of the 80's

I really loved On Fire! for me that album was a game changer for Petra; I feel the same about MPTY for the Volz era, but the guitar riffs and the new bass style brought Petra different harder audience in the fold. Also I've heard over the years that even though MPTY is/was a great album it really ho...

Re: Oz Fox

Praying for a full recovery. Oz is a great guy with a big heart and servants attitude. Unlike all lead guitarists Oz has always played 2nd fiddle to Michael and really seems to feel alright with it. I remember he was asked in an interview about it once and he said this is God's Way and as long as Go...

Re: CPR is now openly marketing themselves as Classic Petra

I'm just not interested in this version especially without Bob; Classic Petra was alright for me, saw them twice in concert but as most around knows I'm not a GXV fan at all, some personal, some musical, and some ministry wise. He is just not my cup of tea.

Re: Pushing too many boundaries

Does Sweet still hit high notes live? I know he doesn't do it on every song like the studio albums, but some of the live albums he hits notes that make my jaw drop; not sure if that's real or post production magic. Some people have accused Stryper of using vocal tracks in their concerts. I could te...

Re: Pushing too many boundaries

Great show on Friday in Dallas. They were tight and I think Perry adds a new element to the band. Mike was having some guitar issues and kept having to switch them out. I'm really sold on the new material(last 3 albums) love the older stuff but the new material just sounds more mature & professional.

Re: Pushing too many boundaries

Finally listened to the whole thing. Wow! Not a single ballad or "radio-friendly" track. It's all tough-as-nails, in-your-face heavy metal from beginning to end, and very sonically pleasing. I think I chipped a tooth while listening to Beautiful's thundering intro. Definitely some Metallica influen...

I just noticed that the Amazon listing for God Damn Evil flags the album as "explicit".

When I mentioned the name of the album to my wife to see her reaction, she thought for a moment before saying, "Yes. Yes He does."
She gets it!!!

Re: CPR

John Lawry just posted today on Facebook his battle with pancreatic cancer while working on the CPR project. Thanks to God he has been given the clear from cancer after having it sugically removed. Some of the comments here in the Zone about this project, his work, have been appalling. very insensi...

Re: Pushing too many boundaries

Now this is a great album!! The songs that really stand out to me are GDE, Lost, The Valley, Beautiful, You Don't Even Know, & Own Up. For me the song I really don't like at is Sea Of Thieves. All the others are good songs that really fill out an album. GDE the song has a southern rock feel to it wh...

Re: CPR

Bob wants nothing to do with CCM anymore because he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know how to write for CCM radio. He told me that. That explains Holy Is Your Name. It sounds like Bob's attempt to write something that sounds like everything else on the radio. Sadly, it just comes off as way t...

Re: CPR

I mean all the negativity and obvious bias in the Zone against anything spearheaded by GXV. It's pretty harsh for him in here. Just think about how John Lawry feels when it's said here that all he did was produce a Karaoke CD. Jeez, be kinder to these men of God. I get what you are saying but I'm s...
