Yes, don't forget Freedom for WhiteHeart, an awesome album. I liked WhiteCross too. But In the Kingdom to me sounded watered down for them. Maybe not lyrically, but for their style. Triumphant Return was the only one I had before In the Kingdom. It rocked. Freedom does rock!! It may not be as "rock...

Even though I voted for Praise Ye The Lord I don't really have just one favorite from Never Say Die. Songs like Chameleon, Angel of Light and For Annie "do it" for me, also.

Personally I find this whole conversation to be rather disturbing. What exactly is a "downward slide"? From what point? The peak of their popularity? Surely no one is naive enough to think Petra would have been top dog forever. Maybe in the opinion of some, the music wasn't as appealing as it had b...

Yahweh Love - oh mercy, that song's so bad!! 2 Thumbs DOWN.
I, respectfully, disagree with you about Yaweh Love. That's always been one of my favorites. But, to each his/her own. :)

I mentioned Mary's Song as a favorite song. Does that count since he wrote it? He's got a nice voice. I don't know enough about Rob to make any serious comment other than what I just said. :)

The only album that I hate and can't listen too is No Doubt. I like No Doubt , although for a long time I didn't. It's not in my "top 5", but, I play it often mostly to hear the title track. No Doubt(the song) has ministered to me in times of difficulty and Enter In has become one of my "All-Time" ...

I voted for Couldn't find Love Without You. I haven't heard it "forever" because it was left off the CD that combines WWT and NSD :(
I've also always liked Why Should The Father Bother?; Yaweh Love and Mary's Song. So really I have four favorites--but since I could only vote for one......

All this talk about God Fixation got me to put it in and listen to it.
I've always liked it and agree it's been under appreciated.

Re: The stuff that's not on Farewell

Thanks, so much, Michael. My wife and I were at that concert. Thank you for helping us re-live that Great Night of Celebration. :) You're welcome, but most of the credit goes to Sue D. for getting the files from whoever recorded them, and that person for recording them and converting them to MP3's....

Well... sorta! We've got MP3 clips of the entire Ft. Wayne concert that will be up on JohnWSchlitt.com within a couple of days, but I thought you guys might want an advance look at the songs that they played at that concert that aren't on the Petra Farewell CD. Click here to listen with your favori...

Back in the mid 80s there was a band called Ruscha. They played at the church I attended at the time. The associate pastor came up to introduce them and made a comment like...this is going to be loud, etc. A few older people walked out. However....they were very good! Two brothers from Russia and a...

That's become my favorite from PETRA. What did you thing of Grammatrain's version of Wake Up on Never Say Dinosaur? I thought it was good.
