Re: Poll: Come and Join Us (1977)

I really like this album. I think it would easily sneak into my Top 5. All the songs are pretty good, but my favorite would be the title song, closely followed by probably "Holy Ghost Power" or "Where Can I Go".

Poll: Come and Join Us (1977)

I'm just gonna throw this one here as well, and let both polls simmer for a couple of days, see what everyone thinks... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0a/Petra_Come_and_Join_Us.jpg Didja know... that Bob Hartman wanted the album to be titled "God Gave Rock and Roll to You"? However, Myr...

Poll: Favorite song from Petra (1974)

How about a game? Choose your favorite song from Petra's first album. Maybe we can do it for all the albums 8)

Didja know... that Petra's first album was recorded in 2 weeks with a budget of $1000?

Hmm, I kinda liked that. Interesting song.

I'm glad they're finally releasing something. I know they've been trying to for a while.

Re: White Heart Reunion Tour

This would be good news... if I could get on a plane to the states to see them :(

But seriously, I'm glad. White Heart was one of the first bands, along with Petra, that got me into Christian rock.

Re: Atheist Petra Fans

Here are my top 5 Petra albums: Beat The System (it hooked me) Never Say Die On Fire More Power To Ya (Rose Colored Stain Glass Windows, one of the greatest ever) Back To The Street (I expected Petra to be horrible without Greg so the memories tied to this album are great) Nice list. For what it's ...

Re: Atheist Petra Fans

Beat the System is a great album to get hooked on. It has what could be my #1 Petra song ("Adonai") and a couple that I consider among my favorites ("It is Finished", "Beat the System", "Witch Hunt"). You also mentioned "For Annie", which is another one of my favorites. Not a huge fan of "Don't Let...

Re: My Ultimate Petra Compliation Set

I found the CD compilation I made several years ago. I made this shortly after Jekyll & Hyde was released (2003) and at that time, I wasn't that familiarized with some of Greg Volz songs. Still, I tried to have a good representation of each era among the favorites I chose. 1. Jekyll & Hyde (2003) 2....

Re: My Ultimate Petra Compliation Set

I did a "compilation" CD a while back and I remember having a hard time choosing 15-20 favorite songs to fit on a CD. If I can find it, I'll post whatever I had in it here.

Re: Favorite petra song

Tough to pick just one. My favorite used to be "Creed", but I've been going back and forth between that and "Adonai" for a while now. Here's a rough list of favorites, in no specific order... 1. Creed 2. Adonai 3. Bema Seat 4. Judas' Kiss 5. Underneath the Blood 6. Sacred Trust 7. Pied Piper 8. Come...

I will have to break out the original record, but I could have sworn Myrrh was the label for the first three, then Star Song pick up with NSD. Yes, it was Myrrh. I got it right on the discography (Myrrh and A&M.) but I don't remember if I was the one who wrote Myrrh or Word in the history. Anyway, ...

Hey, if I can get around the money, I'd be willing to travel to see this. I've only seen Petra once, and John Schlitt solo once...

I wanted to see Petra on their Farewell tour but I really couldn't manage to it... :(
