Never Say Dinosaur

I dug out the Petra tribute album, which I haven't listened to in years. I hadn't been very impressed with it before, but I think after Double Take I've become more comfortable with the idea of the songs sounding radically different from the originals. There's some decent stuff on there. Although I ...

Re: TOP 10 ALL TIME PETRA SONGS

Not so much a general top 10, but my 10 favourites. One of these lists is not like the others... 10. Counsel of the Holy 9. Think Twice 8. Destiny 7. All About Who You Know 6. I Am On The Rock 5. Chameleon 4. Speak to the Sky 3. Walking in the Light 2. Too Big To Fail 1. Disciple I also love the mus...

Re: Petra Compete Tour list - help add missing dates.

I saw Petra live at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday Feb 29, 1992. I still have the ticket stub. I remember they added a show on the 28th due to high demand. They then added a third show on March 1. I had a tour sweatshirt that listed a bunch of cities, but I can't find it right now.

The Compilation Album I'd Actually Like to See

With all these compilations out there, it's a shame that there are many tracks that have never been officially released digitally under the Petra banner. I'd like to see a digital compilation of all of those tracks and other oddballs. 1. Rockin' On With Jesus (if it exists; even use that live bootle...

But so far nothing is confirmed.

Maybe Sue has more information about it.
I believe Sue has shared that information a few posts up.

Re: Highest note sung?

Forget John or Greg. The highest note ever hit in a Petra song was in Holy Ghost Power.

Re: Hand On My Heart: Hate it, don't you?

It's one of the few Petra songs that I skip when it comes up, along with Friends (All in the Family of God) and sometimes Sincerely Yours. I bought Unseen Power right when it was released as I was on my way to youth group. I put the album on during the meeting and was in the next room playing floor ...

It was Joel Hanson from PFR who wrote that one. I have a solo album of his where he does the song, and I must say that I like his original version better.

Double Take: Music vs Lyrics

I know that most opinions on Double Take are fairly negative. Most of this revolves around the fact that in many respects they "butchered the classics". So I present this question: If Double Take contained original song lyrics set to the music instead of the classic lyrics, would it change your opin...

Re: John Schlitt's Christmas album!!!!

One other thing: every time I listen to Hallelujah Chorus, I can't help but picture one of those houses with the flashing Christmas lights timed to music. There's one near where I live and I'm thinking of sending him the song. It would be epic. I can picture the whole thing in my head. I've now ruin...

Re: John Schlitt's Christmas album!!!!

I have to mention that I love Mark Hill's bass playing on this album. I hope that John continues to work with him in the future. Ditto above on The Spirit of Christmas. Sounds more Rod Stewart than John Schlitt. So far I think my favourite is Do You Hear What I Hear? Oh, and someone should have told...

Re: John Schlitt's Christmas album!!!!

Wow.... wow. I don't think I've heard John hit those notes since Back to The Street. WOW. I'll have more thoughts later I'm sure, but at first listen... I'm just blown away. Fantastic work, John and crew. Yeah, John must have had his Unseen Power jeans on for the Hallelujah Chorus recording session...
