Blocked E-mail

Post by MNQuilter » Mon Aug 30, 2004 9:59 am

While I agree that Wayne is not my favorite person, don't jump to conclusions regarding the blocked e-mail address. It may not be deliberate. We just got a new spam blocking program at work and it blocks ALL e-mails that are not from an internal address and you have to manually select individual e-mails/addresses and add them to the whitelist (approved e-mail address list). This has been a big hassle for many of us because most of our e-mails are from external clients and all of them were blocked initially. Even when you add them to the approved list, it takes 1-2 days for them not to be blocked. If Wayne is using a similar program and not checking the blocked e-mails regularly this could explain it.

The Christian rock band Petra will perform and the city will provide portable bathrooms and a dumpster for the event.
Hmm... this doesn't sound good for the band... if they don't play well John may end up with a swirly and Bob may end up face-down in a dumpster! hehe

I don't think it's going hard on someone who regularly corresponds with strangers (promoters) to say that he should be very vigilant about anything that blocks any emails. He needs to receive emails from people requesting information about what they need to do to book Petra. If it's accidental, it's negligence or incompetence, and if it's on purpose it's pure rudeness. I work on a Web site for a living... what would you call it if I blocked all requests to my Web server that didn't come from inside the office? That would be incompetence on my part, wouldn't it?

I will add to that, though, that Petra HAS been playing more dates recently. Someone, maybe Mr. S, deserves credit for that, at least.

The next question is: How many of those dates will they actually play?

Sorry, couldn't resist. :D
