HOW OFTEN ARE YOU LISTENING TO JAH?

Post by executioner » Mon Aug 30, 2004 8:58 am

How often is everyone still listening to JAH? JAH has stayed in my 6-disc changer rotation longer than any cd before it's time. This is Petra's best in my mind. Tell me what you think.

I probably listen to it every other day. I agree it is one of their best, but I'd be hard pressed to actually pick one favorite. I think it depends upon my mood and my needs at the time. I listened to God Fixation the other day, which I hadn't listened to in a long time, and I thought, man this is kind of a depressing CD. I'd never thought that before.

I listen to JAH alot, it has become one of my favorite Petra albums. I've really become fond of the song Life As We Know It, it just fits my life story so well, and even ended up writing a pretty deep live journal entry about it recently.

Anyhow,

I travel alot, and my 10 CD carrier right now includes:

Jeckyll and Hyde
This Means War
Beyond Belief
Praise 2

as well as stuff from other artists:
Tait-Empty
The Elms-The Big Surprise
The Elms-Truth Soul Rock and Roll
Relient K-The Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek
Across the Sky-Across The Sky
Newsboys-Step Up To The Microphone

How about you guys?

How many times listening to J&H during the week

Post by JekyllandHyde » Mon Aug 30, 2004 3:30 pm

I listen to it on an average of 3 times. It is by far the best Petra CD. My favorite tune is J&H, Stand, and Woulda Coulda Shoulda.

I still listen to Jekyll and Hyde pretty often, usually once or twice a week or so. I loooove that cd. Last week, a line from "Stand" really jumped out at me. "But then your eyes blink, and you begin to think of what could happen if you stand." That one really makes you think! Bob will never cease to amaze me.

Executioner, I've also been listening to the Stryper live cd. I was blessed to be able to attend two of those concerts, one of which I got to finally meet our very own Shell at! That was awesome! :D Also, Bon Jovi's "Bounce" is a great album, although I haven't listened to it in some time.

Anyways, out of all my Petra cd's, the ones I listen to the most are Jekyll and Hyde, Beyond Belief and Unseen Power.

Since I have the CD at work, and only one person likes to listen to my CCM, I can only listen to it one or two days out of the week. One of these days, I'll take it home and fall to sleep to it every night.

Even though J&H is one of my favorites, I'm still adding to my collection, so I'm playing the ones I've just purchased. I've recently added Beyond Belief, On Fire, and This Means War to my collection. I tend to get in a rut... when I start playing a particular Petra CD, I usually play it non-stop for a couple of weeks before moving on to something else.

I don't have a multiple CD changer in my car. But if I did, it would be filled with Petra CDs mostly.
