New album in the works...first news

Post by spottacus » Mon Sep 13, 2004 8:19 am

At the September 11 show in Chaska, MN, I talked very briefly with Greg. This isn't verbatim, but it's an accurate paraphrase.

Me: Greg, are you guys going to be in the studio soon?
Greg: Well, yes and no. It's in the works, but we only have three songs written.
Me: So do you make reservations and then write like crazy, or do you get the whole album written then call the studio?
Greg: We'll get into the studio when the songs are done.

Thanks for the update, Spott. While Greg and Paul both said previously that they were writing new material, neither of them said Petra had finished writing any songs, so this is good to hear.

I'd like to know if there is intent to make the album longer, since J&H was so short, and if there will be guitar solos.

alright!!! I hope it's longer, a little more raw and rugged, and rockin' with solos! :)

Finally, some new music to look forward to. (not that I haven't tried other bands)

Gonna see if I can avoid listening to any of the preview tracks so it's a complete surprise when I get the album. I'd say the odds of that are the same as low as Ralph Nader being the next president of the United States.

Big D: if you actually do pull that off, lend me some of your will-power.

I'm excited to hear this. I hope the album is longer and perhaps has more than 10 tracks. More guitar solos would be acceptable. I don't care if it's more modern rock than classic rock, but a bit of classic Petra should be in there.

My choice for a title would be: "Why The Heck Are We Still Making Albums?"
