You have GOT to be kidding me. No matter what you think of Peter's vocals, you can't possibly be trying to deny that Newsboys still exist, and have been quite a force to be reckoned with, even (or maybe "especially") after John James' departure. That's like saying Petra just hasn't been worth bothering with since Greg X. left.

You are right that Peter Furler isn't the greatest singer. But, there really was nothing to recover from after John James. Peter Furler is Newsboys. He writes all their songs. That is one reason Phil Joel and Jody Davis did solo albums.

I fear that the exit of Jody Davis might mean the end of the Newsboys. But, I've been wrong before.

I think, apart from Phil, you could almost have Peter and anyone else at the other band positions; seeing as how Peter writes the songs. Phil is a big part of the image of the band, and he does a lot of vocals.
