I got the Farewell CD!!!!!!
I'll give a full review later, but a couple of things that JUMP OUT at me in the liner notes.
1. Every former member was given thanks except for one.
2. They still have the managment/booking info in there like their still booking concerts for next year. I know Bob had said that they would try to do a tour in Europe if the door opened up.
These are just somethings that caught my eye when I opened the CD. BTW the former member not listed was David Lichens.

I got it too!
They were selling it and giving it away with a sponsorship of a child with Feed the Hungry. I was looking to sponsor a child from Nigeria, but took a nine year old boy from Kenya. My wife and I have actually adopted a baby boy from Nigeria. We've been waiting a long time, and are now waiting on the US embassy there to finish an investigation and grant his visa so that he can come home.
The CD is great. It has a good sound, good mix (although I agree the drumgs could have come through more), a good set of songs. I wish though that Judas Kiss and Lord I Lift Your Name on High could have been included. Judas Kiss rocked in concert, and Lord I Lift Your Name On High was a great worship experience. We listened to it over and over on the way home from the concert.

Re: I got the Farewell CD!!!!!!
Didn't he really piss John Schlitt off at one point? I remember reading something about Lichens having a big chip on his shoulder, thinking he was going to change the music of Petra, essentially become the leader of "the new Petra", or something like that, so John Schlitt canned him.executioner wrote:BTW the former member not listed was David Lichens.

Well, you could say ticked off and still make your point, which is that someone is angry. Seems we had a similar discussion about another word not too long ago.
There were probably a lot of factors that only the people involved could know. It really is better sometimes for people not to work together if they're completely different in what their goals are. David was very young, only in his early 20s at the time, and John was somewhat older and probably had pretty definite ideas about what he wanted. When you stop to think about it, David probably could have chosen to move on if he had issues with how things were going or what style of music he wanted to play. He didnt necessarily have to wait until he was fired. Thats just my opinion though. Theres no way John could always be right, but he probably did what he had to. And Im sure nobody is sorry Bob started touring with them again.
The article I was talking about is a good one, but being the technically challenged person I am, I dont know how to post the link.
