Edward wrote:I was talking to morons then. When that album hit, I wanted the same thing. I called the powerless that be, and they told me themselves that they would not be releasing it. And of course, the Mardels and Lifeway's didn't stock it, and their coportae buyers knew nothing of it.

That burns me up. I had to sing some of those with crappy tracks as a result.
Now, I was talking about PP 1. You're probably right about PP 2, although there are tracks out there of a few stray songs. I think we have a track of something from PP2 at home somewhere on a compilation CD.

Haha I though Edward said he was talking to mormons. Was that a reverse freudian slip?

Contact the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They sing all Petra songs. Plus if you need songs about polygamy, they can probably help you out.

As bad as the bookstore chains might be, and Family Christian Stores here in my town lost ALL my respect when I went in there and was told that they had not received any Petra: Farewell CD's and were not going to be getting any, I must give my compliments to the very friendly staff of the Berean Bookstore in Champaign, IL.

I went there last week to see if they had Farewell (11 copies), and to see if there was any chance of getting some older Petra CD's that I did not have in my collection because I couldn't find them. At fist, when I asked, they said that they had looked for a rather large number of people and hadn't been able to find anything more than five years old. But they still looked for me. Get this: They were able to locate (and transfer to their store) the Beyond Belief, CITAS, Unseen Power, Wake-Up Call, AND Back to the Street CD's (I already had On Fire and This Means War)...all CD's that are supposed to be out of print. These are CD's that I have heard but do not own...and have certainly never heard all of the songs on all of these CD's.

Berean has just made me a very loyal customer.

Actually man none of Petra's Cd's are out of print, just their videos. You can also find most if not all of them at Amazon.com. They have an option for used CD if cost is a factor.

Actually, I'm pretty certain that the self-titled album actually IS out of print. You can still get it from some sources, but you'll notice that it's kind of being gouged on Amazon.

go to www.bestbuy.com and type in the petra cd's your looking for. Great prices right to your door or have them shipped to the nearest store for pickup. Nationwide inventory to pick from.

I know Mardel in Plano, Tx has 2 copies of "Petra" and have just about all the CD's. All the ones from On Fire! on back are on sale for $6.99. It's been like that for a couple of years now. They must be getting it from somewhere so I don't think it is out of print. Also every once in a while I'll see it at Best Buy and Walmart. Everytime I go in those 2 stores I check and also put Petra items out front where they can be seen.

Thanks for all the good info...unfortunately, I don't have consistent access to the internet (1 hour on the days that I work) right now (this will change when I go back to school for my Master of Arts in Teaching in the fall)...so I don't have much of an option of buying online (that combined with the time my father got his identity stolen via purchasing at amazon.com), especially at amazon.com. All I know is that I was finally able to get these CD's that I hadn't been able to find for years.

I do the same thing when I go to Best Buy or Sam Goody (put Petra out front, that is). Berean had those Farewell CD's front and center here in Champaign...it would have been very hard to miss them, so I didn't get to do any...rearranging...there.

Parable in Grandville, Michigan was playing the album More Power To Ya on rotation the day I was in there.

There wasn't a special going on, the guy just said, "It's great music."
