OK, I Know This Isn't Really Important...

...but, it saddens me all the same. John and Bob were speakers at the Christian Independent Artists Summit held in Franklin, TN last weekend, and here is a link to a pic.

Yes, John cut his hair. I guess it is official, he's a rocker no more.

short hair day

Post by yamasaaaki har har » Wed Mar 29, 2006 7:32 pm

What is John doing in that photo? He has his head tossed back and his mouth wide open. Is he laughing or screaming?

It is kinda hard to see, but yeah, I do think his hair looks somewhat shorter. I don't mind, though.

Yamasaaaki...I think John's laughing in that pic.

And Calico...don't worry. Maybe John just wanted a change. He can shave it bald...as long as he keeps making solo albums!

Now...the day John stops singing completely is the day I shave my own head bald!

Aw, I still love the Schlittmeister. Some guys do look good with long hair though, and he's one of them. Of course, some guys look good with their heads shaved too... Greg Bailey does. Ronny does, but that took some getting used to...Elo and I had a fit over that one.

And yeah, I think he's laughing too.

Compare to: http://www.guidetopetra.com/Photo.html

John is laughing. If he were screaming, he would have the microphone up to his mouth. ;)

Even when he is IN a rocker, John will be a rocker. :D I plan on holding him to his words that we should smack him around a bit if he ever goes too soft. Ballads are one thing, John does those well with feeling and heart, but if his 'alternative' take on 'God is Too Big' ever becomes his mainstream, it will require an intervention.

I wouldn't worry too much about the hair. When one of my other favorite singers, Glenn Hughes, finally reached the point where he realized the need to get his life in order, he cut his hair waaaay short, and then made an album about the 'Addiction' that nearly destroyed his life. This helped him tame his demons, and is probably the hardest (music-wise and probably in other ways, too) CD that he has ever done.

I can't wait to hear about John's next project.

Hehehehehe... I'm with you on that one.

Gotta remember: Hair (or lack thereof) does not make the man.

I'd show you more pix of John with short hair (during God Fix./Greatest hits tour) but the site's over bandwidth again... tomorrow when we're back online I'll post a few.

I've seen John with short hair, and I don't care for it. I prefer rockers with longer hair. Of course, I came of age in the 70s.

Actually it was kind of a joke because I kept telling Sue that the first thing John would do once he was living a "normal" life again would be cut his hair. And he has.

From personal experience I can also say that the shorter your hair, the bigger your face looks. But I won't be telling him that!

short hares

Post by yamasaaaki har har » Mon Apr 03, 2006 5:27 pm

I know John had a short haircut during the Back to the Street era when he first joined Petra.

Did John ever grow a mustache?

I've never seen him or seen any pics of him with a mustache. He had the huge sideburns in the 70s though. :D
