It's because the hyperlink has an extra period at the end. If you remove that period, it will work fine.Pethead1 wrote:When I try the link all I get is this.........

And what happened to all the protests over the years that the band was unhappy with the project and that a rerelease would never see the light of day? This is great news as my bootleg VHS copy isn't in the greatest condition, but it is curious that it's going to be released afterall despite previous claims that it would never happen.

You just never know...There were people (I was one of them) who thought Greg V. wouldn't ever be on the same stage with Petra again. Whether Bob wants to release CITAS on DVD is ultimately up to him, and maybe he does have a little more time and opportunity to work on that project now. There can be a lot involved in doing something like that.

I wonder if this video will be on Star Song Records? EMI might want to start using the name again, just like they did for The Ultimate Collection.
I think it's not at all bad timing to release this DVD this year, just after Petra has retired. EMI has seen that there is still interest in Petra, so they might wanna take the chance to release some oldies. It's not for nothing that all the '80s Petra albums are still in print.

Pragmatic
I hate to be pragmatic, but maybe Bob is protecting copyright interests. If it is possible to buy a copy of it from Bob, then it is not technically out of print, and bootleggers don't have a leg (or a boot) to stand on.

I think maybe you are on to something there, because the product is out of print alot of rulings in the last few years have gone against the labels and artists in the "Copyright Wars" Some artists like Aerosmith and Bon Jovi are bringing all their stuff back to print just to keep it protected.

wow
Wow, some of you people are brutal! OK, here is the scoop. As some of you know, the CITAS masters were "lost" by Starsong years ago. No one knows where they went. So the only chance for a DVD is by using a VHS as a master and professionally transfering it. I personally oversaw this process at a profesional video editing place this week. I used my copy, which was in very good shape, especially considering it is 20 years old. I was getting emails from some of you letting me know you wanted it and that it was being sold illegally on Ebay and going for high dollars. So I looked into it and felt the only way it would ever be done is by us doing it. So I bought a license from EMI. Yes, that's right, I have to by a license to release it. Then there are artwork charges, mastering charges, manufacturing charges. So really, the question about releasing the other videos on DVD depend upon how well this one does. We might only sell 50 copies. We would then lose money and not do it again.
