No, that was Bob (and one of the Elefante brothers, or maybe even both).

I'm not saying anything about the recording quality of Ready To Go. And I don't think that money is necessary to produce a good record. Of course it will work out easier when you have the right equipment and stuff, but good music is still good music even if the production's not that good.

What I'm worried about is that the rock record that John has announced will sound like It's About Love and PDC. If that's case, I think that would be a shame for John, because I know for sure that he can do much better than what can be heard on those two records.
And if John's rock record after all turns out to be more AC / INSP orientated, it might be just a lot of okay songs, but nothing really spectacular. That's something that bothered me on Shake also. The first six songs are very good with some great rock tunes. But there are too many ballads and softer songs to make Shake a real rock record.

I really hope that John will deliver a rock record that will silence me forever about this subject, but I do think that he can't do this without good production (and that's where Dan comes in) and good musicians who know how to write and play music very, very well. And producers and musicians don't have to be well-known to be good, but they need to be good to let John do what he does best and that's sing!

As far as John's lyrics are concerned: I think that Just Reach Out and Ready To Go are okay lyrics. Both are not the most original songs (lyrically and musically). I thought that the lyrics of It's About Love where rather bland. I know John's message is strong, but I think we, as Christians, might sometimes be a bit more concerned with the packaging. Of course the message is the important part, but if you wrap it up in a stale and bland packaging, no-one will unwrap it. And I really do believe that the message should be unwrapped!!

Yikes, can Micah or someone ban this user and delete these spam posts?

Spammers have been targeting my board, too, and I've had to take aggressive action to keep them off.

Micah could, and maybe he will eventually. I don't know why he hasn't yet at least set up captcha or something. I actually took down my talk.petratulsa.org board because it wasn't being used... some of the spammers actually figured out a way to post with their bots without even registering! They're serious about this, and it requires very aggressive measures to block it.

Anyway, I try to get on at least once a day and roto-rooter posts. I can't ban users but I can delete spam posts.
