Bob's new praise album

Post by sue d. » Mon Oct 09, 2006 9:16 am

I'm starting a new thread since the one that was talking about this album disappeared.

SO.....just a little tidbit of info:

Bob's new album will not be in the acoustic vein, as previously planned/announced.

John has been laying down vocals, and he said that it has now turned more into a rock-type album - and wanted you all to know - so be glad!

That's great news Sue!

Will this album be on a label and will it be in stores or is this a computer sales only album?

This is great news, Sue. I know that Petra as a band is no more, but it is John and Bob, who were the "lifeblood" of Petra, as it were.

I am sooooo hoping that the John and Bob concert in Waterloo, IA on 12-9 goes from "tentative" to "definate" soon. Saw Petra on the "Farewell Tour" in Waterloo.

A few questions...
1) Will John's third solo album be done, released, and availiable by that concert?
2) Will Bob and John's praise album be done, released, and availiable by then, too?
3) Will John have solo merchandise (CDs, T-shirts, etc.) availiable at that show?

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I bring plenty of $$$ to the show. 8)

"I've been away... for a little while...."

Sorry.... I couldn't resist.
Will this album be on a label and will it be in stores or is this a computer sales only album?
I don't believe it will be on a label.... at least not as of today.

A few questions...
1) Will John's third solo album be done, released, and availiable by that concert?

3) Will John have solo merchandise (CDs, T-shirts, etc.) availiable at that show?
As soon as I get the contract and deposit back, Waterloo will be a definate.

Answers to questions:
1. No... John & team are still writing for it.
2. Probably not... John just did the vocals, so it's completion is probably a ways away.
3. Yes... John will have CDs & photos...Bob will have his Petra merch too; and Julie (from CA) is working on new shirts for the John & Bob show.

So bring a few bucks, yes!

From the way John talked to me at our Petra show in Youngstown last year, I was under the impression that he practically had a complete solo album written and recorded for a few years, and that it just needed some additional "final polishing" before it could be released. With that having been said, does this new solo album feature some of those songs and sessions mixed together with freshly written material, or is it an all-new recording altogether? I'm curious to know. :D

A Rock-type album? Sounds good to this rocker's ears! :D

That album you're speaking of is still in the can..... it IS nearly done, but there have been some snags along the way.

So THIS album now is an all-new recording.

Hopefully the other will see the light of day too.

Not really anything new... It's still being written and worked on. In fact, just talked to John about it today and it's moving along nicely. They have about 14 songs written... of course not all 14 will be on the album (he's gonna save some for the NEXT album!).

Yep! Thanks for the update! Sometimes I wish John was a computer geek like me sometimes ... They could build some excitement for it over on John's myspace with blog entries containing updates ...
