That was smart. Do you all remember when Inpop put send Revival up without anybody knowing who was singing it? Remember the very positive response that was given.
It is all imaging! Half of the artists today can't sing or play an instrument decent. Nothing matters but how you look and how young you are.

Gotta blame it on something... gotta blame it on something..

Isn't this basically what Milli Vanilli got roasted for in the 80's? One band, full of homely old guys (OK, not necessarily homely but definitely older) made the music, and two good-looking younger guys did the photo shoots and live appearances. And it worked REALLY well until the younger guys let their consciences get the best of them.

It worked for The Monkees at first, too. And who knows what all bands did this for years and never got caught.

That was an interesting article. I noticed at college that a lot of other students got into classic rock. I didn't know that was happening with teenagers too. I am 23 and I listen to a lot of Beatles, Floyd, Zeppelin, The Who, and some other old bands they mentioned. I don't listen to much new music. The older stuff sounds better.

I guess I like a lot of English stuff....

I'm noticing the same thing. I've become friends with my wife's 13-year old cousin, who's learning to play drums and guitar. We recently talked about rock music trends, and we agreed completely about who the really great bands are. He rejects the "look at the floor, stand still, and strum" guitarist mentality, and he wants music with great vocals and melodic guitars. Turns out, his friends feel the same way.

Kids today are gravitating toward showmanship, musical talent, and great songwriting. What a relief!
