Some topics never go away Eric. It has been awhile since things have gotten so crazy around here. I really do hope everything goes well, and as you've said, we should pray for them.

The guy I talked today was Michael Nachtigal, listed as Management on the Classic Petra web-site.

I just e-mailed the manager. He sent me an attachment with all of the info he currently has, probably the same thing he gives to everyone who asks for info. There isn't anything included in that packet we don't already know other than a list of 30-40 dates with 23 of those confirmed (the others look like dates they'd like to fill, but no one has tried to schedule Petra on that date yet). Nothing about Sony. Nothing about a 10 year commitment. Nothing about 3 albums. And I asked specifically about all three of those.

Now I checked the Management website and the guy is involved wit hsome big names like:
The Osmonds, Megadeth, Usher, REO, Kitaro, Carman, many others but also lists Petra!

Nine Inch Nails, Third Eye Blind, Bullet for My Valentine, Rodrigo and Gabriela, Radio Head, Mandy Moore, Drive By Truckers and many more, all of them succesfull, so if this company is behind Petra, they are in good hands.

So right now it's just going be the one tour and album like we've been told about previously.

I just said what he told me. I verified all three agencies involved posted in the website and they are legit. He is the manager who worked with them on the Beat The System Tour. September Productions has post on their blog wit the release and Classic Petra tour banner.

Are we really that surprised? Weren't people praying for this? Weren't people suggesting "The world needs a band like Petra..."

Because people here are freakin' know it alls that like THEIR things THEIR way. The decisions don't start or end here folks. They didn't ask us. The people steering the ship have one thing that the last gen of Petra did not have, CONNECTIONS WITH INFLUENCE.

I don't know about the Sony deal. Sony has many sub entities. Sony has an indie element as well. If they got someone to belly up and pay them for three albums, then MPTY Petra. It wasn't like anyone else in Christians music was going to make something suitable to listen to.

Those dates seem to be missing something... like half the country. As a Texas resident, I'm really, really hoping they'll have a swing west of the Mississippi, but there don't seem to be any stretches of unfilled dates large enough to accommodate that. I used to live in Connecticut and was excited to go to college in Texas because it would mean more Christian rock shows. Sadly ironic if Classic Petra avoids the West but has a slew of shows in New York and New England now that I'm down here (because obviously it's all about me. )

Wow, the tour is starting in Louisville! That is impressive to me since Louisville is not exactly a hotbed of CCM activity. I will be really interested to find out the location in Louisville.
