Your Favorite Farewell Petra Concert Video of ALL TIME!!

Post by fcollazo » Fri Jan 06, 2012 12:00 am

I would have to say mine is "Flekkeroy Norway 2005". The performance was flawless, better live feel than the Official Farewell Concert, and it had everything they did on the tour, not the condensed DVD version. Paul was showing off every possible lick he had in his arsenal, WOW!!!

Also the Recording though simple was very well done, Great quality video and sound.

What's yours? They are all over Youtube, and in full!!!

I've only seen the ones that are on youtube and most of them don't have good audio, but there are many that you can tell were fabulous in person, and this is one. It's hard to pick one favorite, but I love the energy in this one, and hearing my favorite singer blasting away, and the ending is really good.

Oops, I thought it would actually post the video instead of just the link. It is He Came He Saw... It says "Show do Petra na Noruega, 1991."

has to be the whole url Jan.

I wish could have seen the Dream team era live, it pretty hard to not watch that video and not get pumped up... the guys seem so happy. This must have been the peak of Petra?

I just realized that. ;) Oh well, there are alot of great DT ones. So I guess this one (J&H). Love that raspy rock! The one from Peru is good also.

I love the one, I think it's called Judas' Kiss Live Norway or something like that. In my opinion, Bob did the best solo that he's ever done on that song. And John's scream at the end... major goose bumps!! 8)

"Pethead" is not a title. It's a way of life.

There's a video from the tour on youtube where Paul is doing a drum solo, that's my favorite right there 8)

And they did a hell of a show if one could say that. Ronny had so much energy on stage...like a grown-up child...loved them.

Yeah the Norway show on the Farewell tour is a great concert - I enjoy watching it more than the official dvd. I also have lots of favorites from other era's. The TBN vid of Jekyll and Hyde 2003 was the first thing I saw of John in Petra - his scream at the end kills the one on the album. Love it!

Also, Alive 2000 is one of John's best performances I think - wish the vid/aud quality was better though.
I would LOVE to see the full set from the Washington DC show from 94 - great energy and everyone is in top form.
Also, there is a vid Trodland put up of "Awesome God" from the Wake Up Call Tour - Would really really love to see that entire gig!!

Just a bit off subject, but I always see 'Dream Team' when talking about Petra from On Fire through Wake Up Call. I must be in the minority, but for me, my 'dream team' would be Back to the Street and This Means War. I enjoy Kelly so much more than Cates. Don't get me wrong, Ronny is a great bass player, but I just like Mark overall. Sorry to interrupt. :)

I agree with you Mitch, i think what Ronny did was added a more fun factor to the band when it was needed. John Schlitt said something along the lines of his dreamteam was the 86 to 88 lineup aswell.

I also prefer Mark. I love the studio stuff that Ronny did, but live I feel he was more of a visual plus than a tight bass player. Mark on the other hand was solid as a rock live.. on the bass and vocals. Would love to see a pro-shot live performance from that line-up... I know I've seen part of "Whole World" live with that line-up on youtube somewhere... wonder if the rest of the gig exists....?

I think the videos done in Europe seem to be better then the ones we have. Also I like both Mark & Ronnie and I think both Lonnie & Greg B are very underated
