Hartman & Schlitt House of Rock

Post by brent » Fri Dec 28, 2012 11:24 am

Who would pay to attend a three day, in-studio, brainstorming and song development course with Bob and John, where everyone walks with a copy of the song they contributed to? Sign me up.

Let's say....no. Let's say that there would be 4 classes in the USA, and 4 Internationally.

Then it depends on the distance and of course the price. Do you have in mind, that promoter/churches can book them like a band for concert? It's a nice idea! There might be interests at my former church.

Of course, but chances are they'll never hold one within at least a four day drive, so count me out

"Pethead" is not a title. It's a way of life.

ok, what about a live event on-line? What is Bob & John were in a studio with those who could attend in person, and then the event was available on-line. There would be a fee to watch, but you would also get the download of the song. What if the whole thing was captured and packaged for viewing later?

Also interesting, but:

a) I guess it's pretty hard to write a song in a group and i guess it takes time - and it seems to me, working on songs over internet is much harder!

b) Writing songs is - mostly - very personal. :| Don't know if people would like it, when stranger sees and hear them chatting with Hartman/Schlitt about personal stuff, knowing its gonna be discussed on http://www.thepetrazone.net/

c) I' bet after 20 minutes talks 90% of the "customers" about Petra and all the other stuff - and not about songs!

Yeah. Bob and John would have to more or less show how they do it. The brainstorming would come more from them. I am sure Bob has enough old, unused and possibly new ideas floating around. The input might have more to do with tone, etc. But, then again, since it is all for fun, a franken-Petra tune might be interesting. It could be kind of proggy, kind of long, encompassing everyones ideas.

The input would be moderated.

Hm... i was also thinking of the technical Infrastructure you would need (lots of traffic, a server and software like http://www.red5.org/ or some Adobe stuff ) - but then G+'s hangout dropped in my mind. It's pretty easy to have multiple video face2face connection there. Maybe you lose some "is this professional?" points, but hey! It's for fun!

This is something I would be in for; I want to see the process that Bob uses in creating a song and also on how the music is recorded.

There are no technological limits. I do this for a living. We use this same type of thing to do on-line global training sessions and product roll-outs. It isn't cheap, but it is simple on our end of things.
