More Power to Ya or Not of this World
Which album do you listen to given the choice of only one?

It's very, very close, but I might be leaning a bit more towards Not of this World. Not sure why.

I love both albums, but I went with More Power To Ya because I love the title song, Judas' Kiss and Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows. They're both great albums.

My favorite is More Power to Ya. That was my first Petra album that I purchased on my own. It has lots of deep songs and meaning for me.
I like NOTW, but not as much as MPTY.
I love the recording process story for MPTY as well and I can feel the energy in the album; the raw energy of God in that album..I do not feel it as much in NOTW.
Grace,
Harry

Re: More Power to Ya or Not of this World
That's quite the coincidence, because I've been playing my "not of this world" cd in my car for the past couple of days...
I feel that NOTW has not only some of Petra's best songs (thanks, in part, to John Slick's writing & arrangement ability), but also some of Bob's best solo's. Just listen to Pied Piper or Godpleaser (yeah, you heard me right!).
And while I don't ever think of the "Visions" songs among petra's catalog, they do a nice job of bookending the album and differentiating it as a "complete listening experience", as opposed to "a few great songs".
NOTW is MY petra.

I voted NOTW. When I listen to NOTW, I am completely taken away to another place, Lyrically it is superb. John Slick is amazing, Bob's solos are earthy and GXV with just the right mix of Mark Kelly's vocals make this album beautiful in so many ways. I love this album.

Re: More Power to Ya or Not of this World
This is not even close; MPTY is by far the better album. Ive always felt NOTW is the weakest of the GXV era albums and will go as far as putting it in the bottom 5 of all Petra albums. It just seemed so bland and ordinary compared to MPTY.

When I call on Your Name i never the same. When I call on Your Name i am healed from my shame. Just the mention of Your Name and my heart/life/world has got to change. but my Yahshua (Jesus) You're forever the same.
