The Petra Zone

A few questions I have been wondering...

1. What was Petra's largest concert in the US?
2. What was Petra's largest concert in the Non-US?
3. What was Petra's largest Festival appearance in the US?
4. What was Petra's largest Festival appearance in the Non-US?

To answer one of my own questions #4 I think the 90,000 at River Plate Argentina 2005 might be up there.

Lakeland Fl. 93 or 94, 9,000 - 10,000 conservatively! That's it for me!

2) Could be India, 2002 with 10'000-12'000.

Not sure if its the largest in the U.S., but I saw them in late 1991 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, TX; The place sat about 20,000 for concerts and it was packed out.

For the largest U.S. festival appearance, I would think it would have to be Creation. In the late 90's, actual attendance for the headliner was probably somewhere between 60 and 70 thousand. In the earlu 90's when Petra was headlining, it was probably closer to 40 or 50. I would the say the WUC call appearance was the largest, just because attendance was growing from year to year in the 90s.
Can any other festival top those numbers? That might depend on one's definition of a festival. In terms of the traditional multi day festival with camping, Creation is the beast.

The Zone didn't exist back then.... neither did the internet! There were 'newsgroups,' and CompuServe chat boards.

I got my first computer in 1995 or 1996--Technology sure has come a long way since them.

Technology has its good points, but there is a lot to say for simpler times also.

Do you mean, "Did anyone currently frequenting the zone attend the 1992 Farm Aid concert?"

The internet didn't exist until Bill Clinton and Al Gore got in office. Al Gore created it. He said so himself.

Actually, the internet did exist before 92, but only the military and government had access.

Back in my Commodore 64 days, I used QuantumLink to get online and chat with people. I don't remember if there was a Petra message board or not.
