Stryper & Petra concert
Re: Stryper & Petra concert
I too think Stryper is doing well. Mike says they are dysfunctional as ever, but he is writing good tunes for them at the moment, capturing what made them famous. Their next album is supposed to be the heaviest thing yet.

Until someone with a lot of cash gets the Dream Team on board for a tour, does all the leg work to book a tour, and pays them to practice, I think Bob and John are going to rock what they've got. And that's fine by me. I enjoy Cristan's enthusiasm. I too would like a full show with the Dream Team, but I'll pay for the current version just the same. They do a great show.

No its the current Petra lineup. John Lawry said he is back with the current Petra with them doing a few dates a year, so I guess you can say Lawry is officially back in the band. I know your sold on the Dream Team and only the Dream Team, but I'm excited with what God has provided for us.Dan wrote:Ronny & Louie?executioner wrote:BTW John Lawry is scheduled to work this date...

Yeah, I have never seen John Lawry play live, that would be cool to see. I didn't know he was back with the band.

He will play with the band as his schedule permits was his response. I'm like you and want "Dream Team" to join together again do an album and some dates, but I want more what God wants for them individually & band wise; If He doesn't want it, it won't happen. That is the way I'm looking at it.Dan wrote:Yeah, I have never seen John Lawry play live, that would be cool to see. I didn't know he was back with the band.

I think I remember that--That was one of the rewards for his Christmas CD wasn't it? It would seem to me also that it would be very unwise for someone who's had problems with drugs and alcohol to be drinking, and I would imagine he knows that....But let's not stray off topic as the Zone has a tendency to do.Mountain Man wrote:I had a conversation with him once in which he told me that he has never smoked, and he never will.Shell wrote:I don't have firsthand knowledge about whether John drinks or smokes...
I love the Strypetra pic by the way.

Re: Stryper & Petra concert
It was actually a reward from one of the Jekyll & Hyde promotions. InPop originally promised a phone call with the whole band, but in the end it ended up just being John Schlitt who called unexpectedly one evening, and we ended up talking for about 20-minutes. It's a pretty cool memory.Shell wrote:I think I remember that--That was one of the rewards for his Christmas CD wasn't it?
