April 91 and 94, and January 92. The 94 magazine is missing a page, but otherwise it is a good deal on 3 decent quality magazines with Petra on the cover.

I remember this article, Litchens lied about playing with Bon Jovi.

Lichens or the journalist? Did Lichens make that statement and did the writer fail to check it? Or did the writer misunderstand Lichens / beef up something Lichens said?

Here's something from google groups in 1995. From a quick search, it looks like CCM wasn't the only place this was reported. According to the person on Google groups, a radio station guy insisted that Lichens played on a Bon Jovi album. I went through the band and solo albums from that time period, and I don't see any mention of Lichens as an additional musician. Perhaps he played with Jon as part of some rare one off gig? Both Jon and Bruce have been known to show up at benefit gigs or concerts of other bands, particularly in NJ, and get on stage and sing with them.
There has to be an explanation for how this got started. He's on facebook. Someone should ask him about it. It looks like he's made a nice career for himself in music.

20 years ago, so who really knows. He was young sometimes you have to beef up your resume to get a foot in the door... wasn't like he couldn't play.

Fast forward 10 years, 2006.

Up and coming artist Dave Lichens performs "Let Go" which is featured in the Dreamworks film She's The Man.

According to Billboard, Lichens played with the Dan Reed Network while touring with Bon Jovi.

Kind of ironic reading that article where it talks about families breaking down and, basically, then the band goes through that as well in the upcoming years ...

So might have been miss worded from this. Billboard and CCM would have taken this information from Petra's management press release... anyone got the press release?

He was/is a piece of work. He left a bad taste in the mouths of guitar/amp company AR people. You don't screw manufacturers. Word gets around and the band name is tarnished.

Did a guy this young have endorsements?

He got endorsements because of Petra and abused the relationships and policies. That's all I will say.

That's what I thought you were implying. Just surprised he was able to get endorsements at all, even being associated with the band.

Things do have a way of catching up with you, he'll reap what he's sown if he hasn't already. I don't know all the circumstances and don't need to, and I am by no means an expert on how endorsements or the music biz works. I do know there will be nonsense anywhere you have people, and as was pointed out, it was a long time ago.
