My uncle was telling me he once owned an AMC Javelin. I'm a musclecar fan so I looked up some pictures of them on google. One picture caught my eye, and I thought: "Hey, that looks like the one in the Petra video!".

Sure enough it was! Check this out....

Any actual proof that it was the one from the video? If that was the original paint job then it has gained paint since the video where the Arizona car has a lot of primer. Also what happened to the chrome bumpers? I would say that the person who got this sent to Sweden got a great car, but not the one from the video (not that it matters) The one from the video is probably in Arizona in the desert or crushed 25 years ago. I do want to believe it is it, but I doubt it. Was last registered in 94 in OK, probably not been on the road since. Not the same car.

Brent will have the final say.

Why do you assume that Brent will know the answer?

Brent will probably know the answer.

Brent, will make a statement which will most likely be true. Jonathan will follow with a graphical confirmation of Brent's judgement of the situation.

Psh. I don't know squat about this stuff.

All I know is my friend had one of those and we had a REALLY HARD time pickin up chicks in it.

The only thing it was good for was "biscuiting". That is something we used to do, that would get you killed today. We went to the store, bought cheap cans of biscuits, opened them in the car, and lobbed them out into oncoming traffic. When those biscuits hit the cars, they made a big slap, freaked out the driver, and then a chase ensued. If we had a muscle car, we knew we could get away without a fight. The bummer was finding the biscuit that got away from me, underneath the seat....the next day....in the 100 degree heat....all swollen and stuck to the carpet. Good times.

I did a Google image search for 1971 Javelin, and that particular paint job isn't unique; however, the damage to the hood and passenger side appears consistent with the video even though it's not an exact match.

So it could be the car from the video, or it could just be a coincidence. Without some sort of documentation and a verifiable chain of custody, I don't think there's any way to know for sure.

You'd have to start with Eddie Stakes, the guy that sold the car, and work backwards from there. The question is this: Is the Swedish dude that bought the car saying it is the actual car that was used in the video, or just the exact same model and paint color as the one in the video.
If Stephen Yake produced the video, you could also start there and work forward. Maybe the two roads meet, maybe not.

His post suggests that it's the actual car from the video.

I am going to guess because his first language is not English he really meant it is like the car from the video. It could be one of 10,000+ cars with the same paint job. Only people at the Zone are going to call it into question cause we are collectors enthusiasts of all things Petra. I have looked at stills from the video, and I say it isn't it.

Does it have hair dye stains, peanut wrappers, Coke cans and a Korg Poly user's manual in the back seat? Nope. It ain't it. :P

No but it does have, a mullet piece, short hair piece and one blonde long haired piece... this could be the proof we need?

He says, "Cool fact is that this is the car you all seen in the Petra - Beyond Belief video!" then later, in text highlighted in bright yellow, he says "Yes, its [sic] the car from the music video: Petra - Beyond Belief," so I suspect he really does believe that the car seen on screen is the one he purchased.

One curious feature of the car in question is that it only has the black stripe on one side, like the car in the video, whereas cars usually have detailing on both sides.
