question for Sue about The Christmas Project

I remember back when John was recording The Christmas Project that he had posted on the crew website that he had to ditch a song they recorded because of licensing issues and had to record a different song in it's place. Are you able to tell us which one was scrapped and which one took it's place? Just curious ;)

I've always wondered the same thing.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing John's version of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" didn't make the cut.

Hehehe... not quite.

Dan wanted to do Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon but there was too many hoops to jump through to get it licensed. So along came "The Spirit of Christmas."

I'm trying to imagine John singing "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" and laughing. Somehow I can't picture him singing that.

I agree, it is dumb, but it was probably meant to be. I haven't heard it for a number of years. I can't imagine anyone being interested in wanting to perform it. :P

Happy Thanksgiving all.

I hate it too, well I hate it now. When I was a kid I loved it. It is in the same league as "All I want for Christmas," "I got a hippo for Christmas," and "Christmas Shoes" now. I realize that two of the three songs I just listed are meant to be stupid but man, I hate those songs.

I'm not sure I would put "Christmas Shoes" in the same catagorey as the other two.

It may be a least favourite song, but still has a a very serious message.

Well, there are some songs that just never should have been written!
