Re: GXV Covering John Schlitt's Petra
I can still hear a few Volz-styled songs on albums after BTTS. I can well imagine him singing "Keneniah" and "The Water is Alive". To me, "Keneniah" is a typical "classic Petra" song with story-telling lyrics, such as "Let everything that hath Breath" had. In my mind I can hear that song with JDB production and Volz singing, on MPTY or NOTW. In my mind I can also hear Volz on "Mine Field", as the pace, rhythm and keyboard solo sounds like it could have come of BTS. Turning things around a bit, I can also hear Schlitt and the Dream Team playing, with Elefante production, "Without You I would surely die", even though that song was written by Hough and not Hartman. The overall energetic rock style of that song reminds me of "All Fired Up".
