Petra Youth Choir Collection

Post by PiedPiper » Thu Dec 21, 2017 11:08 am

I found this record "Petra Youth Choir Collection" on Amazon recently. There are two volumes. I've never heard of them. Does anyone have them? The song list for volume 1 says: Choir renditions of Petra music. 1. Doxology/Praise ye the Lord; 2. Why Should the Father Bother?; 3. Never Say Die; 4. Not of this World; 5. More Power to Ya; 6. Godpleaser; 7. Stand Up/Lift Him Up; 8. The Coloring Song; 9. Grave Robber; 10. Not by Sight; 11. Road to Zion

There is a road inside of you; inside of me there is one too.
No stumbling pilgrim in the dark, the road to Zion's in your heart.

Ok, sorry. I should have done a keyword search on this before posting. It's been discussed before. It looks like the volume 2 isn't actually available, but just listed on Amazon.

We had these at my college radio station many moons ago. As I recall, they were generally terrible.

The only good thing about them is the album cover of the first one. Classic Petra guitar album cover. But the music is terrible.

When I first saw these, I thought it would be Petra tracks with choir, which would have been cool. I was disappointed. But, it is what it is.

For information on Petra releases, always visit Petraspective ;-) More and more accurate info that any other source.

It was only ever available on cassette. I believe it was sold only in a package with the companion songbook, which probably is the cause of the cassette not being very widespread. It is very, very hard to find, but I have a copy that I have even backed up (with trodLAN's assistance) to mp3. Just never bothered listening to it...
