Over Bandwidth on JWS.........

Post by JanetMF » Wed Mar 31, 2004 12:58 am

 It seems that JWS is over band width. Does anyone know when it will be back up?
It's been soooooooooo long since i've been on here, and let alone said anything that I feel lost!!!
I was just wondering what the concert schedule is like, and are they promoting J & H, or still playing other songs?
Thanks........good to be back!!!

Janet

The first of the month usually resets the bandwith count. Sue, correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct, sir. I have no idea what it was that pushed us over the edge this month... we didn't really especially add anything new! Lord help us if Petra ever does begin to recieve the recognition and radio airplay they deserve!!

Yes, this happens at the end of just about every month.

I wonder if there is a way to redirect it to another PETRA website just before they run out of Bandwith.

A Way

Post by Michael » Wed Mar 31, 2004 4:26 pm

Yep, there's a WAY, but we're not going to do it... too much trouble, and it would have to be done by the ISP (the people who want us to buy more bandwidth!) We could easily fork over and buy more, but the expense would be too much for just a day or two.

Yeah, sorry about the shut-down. It does seem to happen all the time, even though MJ has done a great job in setting up mirrors so other sites help share in the load.

It's just too popular... or we just have way too many bandwidth-eating videos and audios!

Hey Michael,

Do you want to re-send me a list of the new files to mirror? I know you sent me some a while ago, but I was in the "mostly offline" mode and didn't get around to transferring them. I can now!

Sent ya a PM, Micah.

By the way... if anyone has Web space they can spare, and you have a little spare bandwidth, let us know. You can set up a directory yourself, only mirror whatever files you want to, and our system will cut you out of the list when we've used up the bandwidth you pledge to let us use, so unless you have a spike in your regular usage that you didn't expect we shouldn't push YOU over the edge! :) And you have pretty good control over exactly what's going on through a set of pages we've set up so you can change your bandwidth pledge or add new files to your mirror at any time. Anyone who can help out is appreciated.
