CITAS -vs- CITS revisited

We write it JAH because it's pronounceable. CITAS isn't really pronounceable, unless you want to say "sit-as" or "kit-as" or something weird like that. CITS isn't pronounceable either, but it has fewer letters, so it's less to type and saves drastically on bandwidth, making the Internet a better place in which to live.

If you want to us CITS, would you also you CJU for Come and Join Us?

Also, in the interest of consistency, if you're dropping 'and' you should also be dropping 'the', 'of', 'to', etc. So Back to the Street becomes BS. And we can't very well have that now, can we?

'And' is just as much part of the album title as the other words. Stop discriminating against conjunctions. They're words too!

Ok, I love Petra, a lot. I would listen to Petra or go to one of their concerts over any other. I will always buy their cd the day it comes out and I will own everything Petra I can get my hands on.
BUT

What in the world are you people talking about?

No, we haven't completely flipped. We had a big discussion awhile back about whether Captured In Time and Space should be shortened to CITAS or CITS.

And now we're discussing if Jekyll And Hyde should be JAH. We have some real deep, meaningful threads as you've probably figured out.

Having already run a long campaign on this very subject, I feel that i am one of many experts in the field of CITS. I therefore will form the committee to look into CIT&S Sue.

I will report my findings here in this forum. What are my credentials? Well, if you read the debate about a year ago on the other site then you would know, but I also graduated with a 4.0 grade average and English was one of my favorite subjects. I think I have what it takes to get to the bottom of this issue once again. "either that or take it way over the top like I normally do." And don't forget I did win the title of Bakersfieldpethead last month!

I talked to a college professor from church and explained it to him and he said the correct english for tha would be ?????. Hopefully I can explain what he explain to me.

1. CIT&S is: Incorrect; He said using it this way would be considered incorrect because you are using a double abbrevation(something I never heard of before). or two different types of abbrevations in the same words or same sentence. Abbrevation 1. & or abbrevation 2. CITS. It's sort of on how it is incorrect to use a double negative in a sentence; somewhat the same, but not entirely.
2. CITS is: incorrect; Because its a title it is incorrect to leave out a porition of the title, and since and or & is in the official title it should NOT be abstained.
3. CITAS is: correct; Using it this way is the ONLY correct form that should be used in abbrevating a title.

NOTE: In today's society it is very common to use things in english incorrectly, so I would not take too much out of this, but if you want it to be right it should and will always be CITAS!

The problem with that is that it has been grandfathered in. The first time I saw it abbreviated "CITS" was pencilled into a Petra songbook in 1986. (The songbook had songs from all of the Petra albums that existed at the time, and the owner of the songbook had written in which albu,s each song came from in the table of contents.)

Since 1986 was before proper English was in common use, CITS stands.

wich is correct:

"go straight"
or
"walk along"

my mom was trying to give an adress in her english class and said go straight and her teacher said it was wrong, that the correct was "walk along"

I've seen it so many times as CITAS. I think the proper and right thing to do would be to go with CITAS. Mike I'm not saying your wrong I'm just saying i'm right.

Do you know the whole sentence you're mom was saying when she said that? It's kind of hard to tell without seeing the whole sentence.
