Creation West Pethead Meeting?

Post by morepowertoya7 » Mon Jun 28, 2004 9:35 pm

In my over twenty years as a Petra fan, I never thought I would get to see them live, in concert. Thanks to God's timing with Jekyll and Hyde (which gets Petra on the Creation West roster of acts for Thursday) and a free family pass for the entire Creation Fest (which God provided through our area publicity coordinator for Creation, which I helped serve by passing out flyers to neighboring communities), God in Christ has put them not only in my backyard, but for free as well. PRAISES TO THE GOD MOST HIGH!

I live 30 miles from the Gorge Amphitheater. I went to part of last year's Creation with my daugthers and absolutely loved it. Learned a lot for this year too, like bring the fans and shade :D

Now having said all that, I want to know how many of the Petheads on this board will be at Creation Fest West and specifically on that Thursday. And if so, how can I ID you if I wish to find you and say "God Bless You" ?

And as an added question, this one directed to Sue and any of you who have met with the band personally after concert, how accessable are they for handsakes and a quick visit. My eight year old daughter who loves Petra (Jekyll and Hyde, Coloring Song, and Judas Kiss are among her favorites all time) wants to not only meet them, she told me "I want to get the autographs of all the band members". I'm thinking, VERY COOL, and what a great opportunity for God to touch her heart more if that is His will.

I'm not going to be at Creation, but I can answer your question about availability... I think it depends to an extent on the promoter, but in my experience (I guess about 3-4 Petra concerts and one John Schlitt solo gig), Petra is generally available to visit with afterward. My 4-year-old, 3 at the time, once told him mom and me, "John is my best friend!" (Next time we saw John ourselves we told him about it, and he said, "Tell him he's RIGHT!" :) )

Unless there is some issue with the crowd being too large or timing or something, I would expect Petra to be handy afterwards if you look for 'em. And although I haven't ever met Bob in person (only email) or Paul Simmons at all, if I know John and Greg, they'll LOVE to shake hands with an 8-year-old and give her a smile and an autograph. From what I've heard about Bob and Paul, they'll do the same.
