Book and CD Project To Commemorate Top 100 Songs in CCM
I'll bet that's "OUR" Jim Cooper that produced the songs, too... I understand he has still been working in CCM since his stint in Petra...

i wonder
I wonder if any songs by Petra will get in there. I'm sure an Amy Grant song will be no.1

top 100
if this new project is based on the previously published list of the top 100 songs, then I believe #1 was Friends by Michael W. If it is a new list, Mercy Me might be a contender to knock Michael out of the top slot. They were #1 in a recent top 500 here in central PA, that also featured 13 songs from Petra.

All of the 100 songs will eventually appear, although a handful of them will be covers by modern groups instead of the originals. The first installment will have "More Power To Ya" on it.

I'd agree with "Friend's" by Michael W. Smith. It was popular at many levels, it was even our public high schools "graduation song".
"More Power To Ya" has to be up there too. Thats still my favorite CD, because it was one the first Christian albums I had ever listened to.
