What would be your perfect secular concert?
I know some of us would have resevations about this, but we all like some secular songs to a point. What would be the perfect secular concert for you?(Once again if any promoters are reading this, or if you know promoters in your town, contact them about some of these)
Mine would be:
Styx opening, Head East following, and Boston closing it.

I know this off the subject but get the new Journey CD. It is their best CD, and their new leader sounds somewhat like Perry but with stronger vocals and a much better attitude and stage presence.Schlittism33 wrote:Mine is a little more unrealistic... BUT it would probably be..
Journey (with Steve Perry) and Head East (with John Schlitt) .. its pretty hard to find guys who can sing like THAT in secular music today...

Attack of the Finns!
Hands down, my perfect secular concert is Sonata Arctica. They're a melodic metal band from Finland, and they put on a GREAT show! Well...their bass player has pretty much no stage presence, although he's a really good musician. But the rest of them are great. Especially Tony, their lead singer. He reminds me sooo much of John on stage. I'll get to see them with Nightwish (also from Finland) and they should put on a great show as well.
I recently saw the Progressive Nation tour with Dream Theater, Opeth, and a couple of other bands I can't remember. I do remember that the first opening act was by far my favorite of the four groups I saw. Dream Theater was impressive, but not really the kind of group you rock out with--you kinda just stand there in awe. Opeth put me to sleep...literally.
Last year's G3 tour with Joe Satriani, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert was amazing!
I really, really wanna see Boston, but I don't have the $100+ to fork over for a ticket right now.
