Okay, I only have a few minutes. A bunch of the Petheads... Sue D, calicowriter, Elo, Mexicanspud, a whole bunch of us... were sitting outside of The W after getting our tickets, and Inpop invited us inside to be interviewed for the DVD! The DVD is apparently a go, although it won't come out until the Spring. I'd say eight or ten batches of people got interviewed on camera while the rest of us sat and visited in the background! Afterward ctwomn and I and Mexicanspud and his wife got interviewed for Way-FM! If you get Way-FM, listen TONIGHT for coverago of the concert!

That's sooo cool.

I can't wait for the DVD.

Enjoy the show, Petheads!

The Next Morning

Post by Michael » Wed Oct 05, 2005 6:25 am

Wow, guys... I am so WIPED! But it was AWESOME! Here's the set list, in case nobody has posted it to the three or four other threads about the concert that have inexplicably popped up:

All About Who You Know
Dance
Amazing Grace
Test of Time
Creed
Judas Kiss
Right Place
ROCK MEDLEY:
Sight Unseen
It Is Finished
Think Twice
I Am On The Rock
Midnight Oil
Mine Field
This Means War
It Is Finished (reprise)
Jekyll & Hyde
BALLAD MEDLEY (with Greg X. Volz! Greg sang his songs, John sang his):
Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows
Road to Zion
More Power To Ya
For Annie
No Doubt
The Coloring Song
Love
(at this point after one take, John, Bob & Greg Bailey launched into "I Am A C-" from Sunday School!)
Grave Robber (lead vox: Volz, on keyboard: John Lawry!)
(at this point John Lawry launched into a MASSIVE keyboard solo, including some pseudo-guiter on his "key-tar" AND: the Jesus Loves You solo!)
(Volz leaves the stage)
Beyond Belief (lead vox: Schlitt, Lawry still on keys)
(HUGE solo from Bob Hartman, accompanied on part of it by Paul Simmons)
Lord I Lift Your Name On High

(apparently this was the end of the planned concert, but they also played:)
He Came, He Saw, He Conquered

They sounded AWESOME! Most of the Zone Petheads were right up by the stage, and the sound there was a bit boomy, but I'm told it sounded terriffic further back, and of course the CD/DVD mix will be super. After the show we hung out for a LONG time... most of the people were gone by midnight, but a few of us were still around... so about a dozen of us wound up at Waffle House at 1am. I think Cat and I finally dragged into bed at 2. And now I'm awake at 7... AAAAARGH!!!!

I'll be OK... I'm just driving 10 hours back to Tulsa today. D'OH!

Oh, by the way... I'll be changing http://www.guidetopetra.com/oct4/ so that it's kind of a mini-site about the concert. First thing I'm going to put up (I'll try to have it today) is a pre-set form people can use to add concert reviews if they want 'em on the Guide. I'll go do that now!

It's really disappointing to hear that Greg didn't sing all of Gregs songs.

I'm surprised they didn't do We Need Jesus at the end. Also I'm wondering how long was the show, and if it will all fit in the recording process for the CD/DVD?

LAME!
Is anyone else disapointed they didn't do "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" I thought that song was sure-fire since Greg would be making an appearance...

I can't wait to hear the CD! I really wish they would've played 'Back to the Street' but beggers can't be choosers :)

Nothing from BTTS

Post by callbeyond » Wed Oct 05, 2005 12:35 pm

They played NOTHING from Back to The Street, or Petra Praise 1, but I believe they did something from all the other albums.

Nothing from God Fixation either. They could have drop everything from No Doubt, I would have been fine with that.

Hey, we're talking about 33 years of songs. They couldn't fit everything in. Of course, "key songs" will always be argued over. Overall, I'm happy with the set list.

Did Greg or John sing this? Did they do any duets?

Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows (Greg)
-Road to Zion (Greg)
-More Power To Ya (Greg)
-For Annie (Greg)
-No Doubt (John)
-The Coloring Song (Greg)
-Love (John)

For the most part each other harmonized when the other sang.
